One of my favorite events is back and better than ever–Culinaria’s Restaurant Week is in full swing now through January 28. Chefs around San Antonio are showcasing their culinary chops with specially priced three-course menus for lunch and dinner. Restaurants designated as “Tier 1”, such as Kirby’s Steakhouse and Wildfish Seafood Grille, offer a $35 dinner (and those open from 11:00 a.m. offer a $15 lunch). “Tier 2” restaurants like Smoke and The Hoppy Monk, offer a $10 lunch and a $25 dinner.
Restaurant Week is a great way to enjoy a Northside favorite or try out a new “buzzworthy” establishment downtown. (My admin. was at J-Prime last night and raved about the rich lobster bisque and perfectly cooked lamb chops that were on the special menu.) Although reservations aren’t required, they are encouraged, and can be booked directly with the restaurant. Best of all, your dining experience will be a charitable one. With each meal ordered, restaurants will donate $1 for lunch and $2 for dinner to Culinaria and the programs it supports.
